Could anyone help me earn money for a town?

Ghast tears sell for $800 each in the Secret Shop, magma cream for $215, and gold blocks for $450. All these items are obtainable by fighting mobs in the Nether (Zombie Pigmen drop gold nuggets-- 9 gold nuggets= gold bar; 9 gold bars= gold block). Popular items for sale in chat are coal, iron, and slime balls, so mining could be a good money maker, too (and if you find a dungeon, saddles go for $210 in the Secret Shop). Diamonds are bought in the Shop for $800, so for best profit, sell there rather than in chat. If you put in the work to enchant tools, picks with fortune and silk touch are going for 30-50k in chat. Good luck! When you get your town, be sure you keep enough in the town bank to cover taxes or you'll lose everything you worked for.
