Make sure you are not using any mods or texture packs, and if you aren't, try force updating Minecraft. It looks like your client is trying to run off the previous texture format, which may be why you are getting a bunch of purple squares for item textures. I may be wrong though, but the best thing to do, is to try running on a fresh install of Minecraft. Also, is this only a problem with Minecraft, or do you get a similar problem with other things?

. City progress has been fairly slow for the past week, due to school in real life. :/ -
Unfortunatly there isn't a whole lot the staff can do about them, but people are told again and again, not to build right next to spawn. :/

I like the ideas suggested, although I thinks the ability to fly is slightly overkill for the VIPs. I thinks that, if they were to be given the ability to fly, Premiums should get the compass ability. Just a suggestion though xD.

Alot of you probably think that this city that I am going to build is just going to be another one of those large and messy towns...
Let me tell you how wrong you will be....
Today I began construction on possibly the largest city to be built on the server; and so far, it is just me building it. I have begun to claim land in an area to build it. A very kind person by the name of MichGames has donated to the city (He didn't know that that was what his money is going towards), but I will need a ton more support, and even a few Trusted people from the server to help me on this build, but I can't progress to far in the build, before the decision of whether or not the server is to be reset, is finalised.
On a side note: I am soo sorry Nemmy for leaving the town, but the brilliant idea struck me, and i'd rather not have to do it all on my second acount
.Yes, this city will be a modern representation of a real life city (No specific city, that would take far more time than I have), and that is why I will need ALOT of help and supply donations. I am looking specifically at the VIPs and Premiums for help with this, but I know that alot of them have projects of their own. The reason why I am looking towards them, as I know I can trust a few of them, unlike alot of the members (Sorry if you are a member, but greifers aren't going to go out and buy Premuim of VIP just to greif a city, but I may still allow some members that I know I trust), and although I trust practically all of the staff, they have work of their own, which is far more important.
The city WILL take a while to build, as I do have real life stuff which is of a higher priority than Minecraft, but I will spend a lot of my time on the build.

After seeing what SED wrote, I feel kind of powerless in my words.
Generally, i am against the new map; it has been reset 3 times before, each time always ending with a majority vote polling to create a new world. Although I have to admit that the map has gotten better with each change, along with the server plugins, but I do not think that starting fresh will resolve any of the problems we see time and time again. It will only postpone them for a while. If the server was to be reset, many people would complain, but would quickly shut up. Then for a while there wouldn't be a problem, but then people (Mainly consisting of new people, not to say that all, or even most new people are annoying) will begin to complain about the fact that they do not have anywhere to build, or such.
Really, there is no way to get people to stop complaining, but I think that a new map is the wrong way to keep more people happy and content. I'd suggest expanding the map, or maybe adding some plugins that add more 'entertainment' to the game. As far as greifing goes, obviously it is a pain for staff how everytime they login, they are spammed by requests from people that have been greifed, but preventing greifing is close to impossible. Giving people access to a command to allow them to protect their builds is plain 'stupid' (It would obviously be abused to the extent where it would become a larger problem than greifers) but linking in with the plugin suggestion, I think that adding a rank plugin (We already technically have one: Member, Premium, VIP, Abysall, Moderator, Admin, ect) where normal players can gain ranks from special recognision by staff or loyalty to the server, could allow players special permissions.
I am sorry if none of this makes any sence, or if the ideas are completly pointless and stupid; I am very tierd, but i just wanted to give my opinion on the whole situation. If the server does end up resetting, I am fine with it; I will continue to play on the server until something happens to it or me.

I am a very friendly and polite person, and I know a lot of people from the LDShadowLady server. I'm also always willing to help anyone in anyway I can, but I am extreemly fair and strict on serious matters. Also I know a lot about the technical side of minecraft and other video games, as well as quite a bit of knowledge in Computing. I go on teamspeak everyday as well, although, due to a lack of a functional headset, I have to use text chat. This is getting kinda long, but I have a lot to say. I have very good relationships with all of the staff, as well as all of the players and also, I have never broken a single rule (except for getting kicked for spam one time, due to lag). Finally, (yes it finally ends) I know all of the rules for both the server and the forums, so I am constantly reminding users when they are on the verge of breaking the rules.

I was moderator on a previous fan-server for PyroPuncher, before it temporarily became closed some time ago. Also, I know all (Nearly all) of the usual moderator commands, and when to use them (and when not to).
