Another Server Reset?!

I vote that if we keep it, we do a cleaning up in the area near spawn. And by we I mean every player that wants to help.

That's not quite how it works, because it's hard to tell what's abandoned or not. For that reason any clean up needs to be done by management, and even in areas that appear griefed or abandoned, if a player touches another player's build and it's reported, we must consider that a grief. I understand where you're coming from, but please leave those jobs to staff.

A new map and all would be lovely, however my towns folk were building nonstop since the previous map reset to create a wonderful metro, so for that reason i say no.

After seeing what SED wrote, I feel kind of powerless in my words.

Generally, i am against the new map; it has been reset 3 times before, each time always ending with a majority vote polling to create a new world. Although I have to admit that the map has gotten better with each change, along with the server plugins, but I do not think that starting fresh will resolve any of the problems we see time and time again. It will only postpone them for a while. If the server was to be reset, many people would complain, but would quickly shut up. Then for a while there wouldn't be a problem, but then people (Mainly consisting of new people, not to say that all, or even most new people are annoying) will begin to complain about the fact that they do not have anywhere to build, or such.

Really, there is no way to get people to stop complaining, but I think that a new map is the wrong way to keep more people happy and content. I'd suggest expanding the map, or maybe adding some plugins that add more 'entertainment' to the game. As far as greifing goes, obviously it is a pain for staff how everytime they login, they are spammed by requests from people that have been greifed, but preventing greifing is close to impossible. Giving people access to a command to allow them to protect their builds is plain 'stupid' (It would obviously be abused to the extent where it would become a larger problem than greifers) but linking in with the plugin suggestion, I think that adding a rank plugin (We already technically have one: Member, Premium, VIP, Abysall, Moderator, Admin, ect) where normal players can gain ranks from special recognision by staff or loyalty to the server, could allow players special permissions.

I am sorry if none of this makes any sence, or if the ideas are completly pointless and stupid; I am very tierd, but i just wanted to give my opinion on the whole situation. If the server does end up resetting, I am fine with it; I will continue to play on the server until something happens to it or me.

We did increase the map, but a lot of players don't like travelling far ): There's cows, sheep, wolves, all sorts of mobs in the farther reaches of the server.

If you vote no, you don't lose anything. You're probably thinking about the "Against" section. Against just means the negatives about a reset. If you vote no, the server will just carry on as usual.

From what I understand Main is being combined with LD's server, which means more resources will open up, plus the server has gotten an upgrade so lag should be reduced. So making it bigger won't cause much lag (except for when the new chunks are being rendered). Though that's to an extent, if it keeps getting expanded, eventually it might be too big.

There will always be people who complain sadly. Currently there is a way to protect your homes, and we always tell people to build away from spawn. However many players do not take advantage of the protection they do have access too, or build in problem areas (Building near spawn is never a good idea on any server). It's not that players need more power, it's that they need to use the power they have responsibly. Be careful who you add to town, adding strangers you don't know opens you up to potential griefers. Use the protection given to you. It's not hard to make money if you put some effort into it.

I've been to the border of the map and I've seen so many nice areas out there where i want to build xD

People just need to explore a little, the amount of animals out there is crazy plus the ones on the other side of the border which i can't get :c

Those people who get bored with the server after a while. There is a solution! Take a break for a week, two, a month then come back and it'll be just as fun!

Don't know what to build!? Google search minecraft blueprints!

Think you have too many items, resources, host a random giveaway! OR Sell items cheaply to people who really want or need them!

Too close to spawn? Afraid of grief!? Take a 20min,30min, 1hr+ walk in any direction..This will effectively reduce grief to a minimal! Nobody who comes on a server to cause problems is going to spend that amount of time getting to 'your' location, not to mention they'll have passed plenty of things to grief on the way and will likely get bored! The further out you go, the nicer the people (more trustworthy..likely), environment, scenery.

Towns are free and easy to create! Additional plots will help further protect your land from Greiferzzzzzzzzz.

Can't afford a town? Fine! Other options are available!

Build underground (preferably not near spawn)

Build under the ocean (preferably not near spawn)

Build under the ocean, underground! (preferably not near spawn)

Build in the nether!

Build under lava!

Build high in the air (+200 blocks up)

Build in the end!

Wanna build near spawn? FIne...Use trap doors on every block to prevent people from griefing!

I think it'll be great. I mean, it will give new users to catch up. New explorations, new towns so everyone would be equal again. Also, It would be great if you leave a notice message when you log in or an announcement. Mainly because other players would know if there was a reset. Only if it was confirmed. Another thing that concerns me is, the bigger the map, the more laggier it becomes. I do realize LD ShadowLady's server are being upgraded, so it would be compatible. Another thing that should be taken on consideration is the amount of lag produced by the users. There will be a hell lot of activity and bunch of things that will harm the environment and facility of the server. This will and eventually cause users to give a bad reputation and review on the server. However, if we maintain the lag we could have a great community without lag.

A lot of users have worked and spent hundreds of hours trying to improve, gather resources, gathering money, and travelling overall had their best dedication. They have implemented their works to it's best and would hate to see it gone. Just like Gorgon, their town is a lag machine consisting over 10+ farming methods, and a huge land stretched over like Japan. However, I hope they don't mind their world to be gone again. I mean, they will eventually rebuild it again and make it even better. Make it what they really expected, efficient and the best.

From what Blue told me its going to be a 100 block wide and 20 blocks deep, the total volume of that would be 157079 blocks give or take. He is going to turn into an underground city He has dug most of it himself but lately I've had a need for stone so I've started to helping him with it.
